In an interview with Vogue before her headlining performance at Paris’ Rock en Seine music festival on Wednesday (Aug. 21), Lana Del Rey revealed details about her upcoming country album, Lasso. For LDR fans worried that they won’t recognize her sound when she makes the transition to country, Lana explained that her new material won’t stray too far from her recent work. “All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana, unless it’s an album like Honeymoon which has a jazz flair, so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure,” she says. “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production—which again, so many of my songs already are.”

Lana’s  been busy since the release of her Billboard No. 3 charting 2023 album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd?, releasing a series of new singles, most recently a cover of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” and “Tough” with Quavo. We should expect more new songs soon, as Del Rey revealed, “We have two more coming out by the end of the year!” (Billboard)
