Help Doggone Disabilities At Clinton Pork And Apple Festival This Weekend [VIDEO, AUDIO]

Meet Lukah Case and her service dog Jasper from Clinton, Illinois. 17 year old Lukah has a rare disease called POTS that causes her to have long unconscious episodes and seizures.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a form of dysautonomia that is estimated to impact between 1,000,000 and 3,000,000 Americans, and millions more around the world. POTS is a form of orthostatic intolerance that is associated with the presence of excessive tachycardia and many other symptoms upon standing.

Lukah’s service dog Jasper assists her by giving her a warning 20 to 30 minutes in advance of upcoming seizures so she can alert others and prepare herself by getting down instead of falling when she passes out. Click HERE for my podcast interview with Lukah and her family about their journey into service dog ownership. (It’s an incredible story, so do listen up!)

This weekend you can learn more and help raise money for the new organization Doggone Disabilities, which was started by the Case family to help to take the “DIS” out of “DISABILITIES”, and help others with the cost of acquiring a service animal. Retail is around $20,000.00 and insurance does not cover them.

How can you help? Attend the Clinton Pork and Apple Festival and buy some pork nachos from the Case family of course! Proceeds raised will support their very fine cause.
