Background: In case you haven’t heard what’s going on, Taylor Swift was in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Saturday night, when an undersea friend made an appearance on stage.

But when the video of the joke from fan @Swifty448 surfaced on Twitter, people immediately pointed to the shark as a dig at Katy Perry. The two obviously don’t get along. She made headlines back in February when she had a buzzed-about Super Bowl performance, which featured Left Shark.
Since “Bad Blood” was written about a beef between them involving dancers Katy stole from Taylor right before she went on tour, and “Left Shark” was one of the dancers she apparently nabbed, fans immediately thought this was a direct snub to KP. Which makes sense.
But a new video from the same Twitter fan shows that the shark’s appearance was part of a nightly prank from Swift’s dancers.
UGH MEDIA WHY ARE YOU POSTING ABOUT THE SHARK? IT WAS A PRANK! THERE WAS A LOBSTER SHOW 1 AND A SHARK SHOW 2! pic.twitter.com/7aIK7wBMaR

We may never know what the real motive behind the shark incident, but do we really need to know?
