Selena Gomez has announced she is teaming up with producers from her show ‘Only Murder in the Building’ for a new take in a sitcom form on the 1984 John Hughes’ rom-com classic ‘Sixteen Candles.

The show will be titled ’15 candles’ and follow four young Latin girls as they start High school, “as they overcome their feelings of invisibility while exploring what it means to leave childhood behind through the lens of the traditional female coming-of-age rite: the quinceañera.”

No word on casting or a release date, but it will stream exclusively on Peacock.
