Ed Sheeran has sold millions of singles and albums and may have dominated the world of music, but now he’s got his sights set on expanding his acting skills again.

It has just been announced that Ed has been added to the cast of Sumotherhood, an action-comedy which will start filming in London soon. 

Ed, whose previous acting stints include a minor role as a Lannister soldier in an episode of Game of Thrones, and a part in 2015’s The Bastard Executioner. His most recent gig was playing himself in the Netflix heist-comedy Red Notice, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.

Ed was also supposed to be a part of Ted Lasso season 3, but due to COVID, he is no longer appearing in the series, but is now writing a song for the third season.

It’s still unknown what role Ed will play in Sumotherhood, but filming is expected to start in London soon.
