Just when you thought you’d be able to walk off Thanksgiving dinner at TARGET, the chain has had a change of heart.

Target made the announcement back in January, but many shoppers thought the retailer would have a change of heart.

Stating that the decision came after the positive response that closing on Thanksgiving 2020 produced, the brand felt it was only right to do it again.

“We also closed our stores on Thanksgiving Day in order to minimize crowds and help our guests take the stress out of getting the best deals of the season,” the company said in the January release. “The response was so positive that we’ll carry it forward this year, keeping our Target stores closed all day long on Thanksgiving Day. This is just one example of how our evolving strategy is meeting the needs of our business and our guests.”

As COVID-19 cases surge across the U.S., it’s believed that other retailers will nix the Black Friday tradition.
