The official trailer for “Respect“, a biopic about the “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin, was released today starring Jennifer Hudson as Franklin.

The trailer shows Hudson singing several classics like “Think”, “Respect”, and “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman”.

The movie follows Franklin’s early childhood years and her rise to fame in 1967.

Franklin chose Jennifer Hudson to play her in the film.  Also starring in “Respect”, is Forest Whitaker as Aretha’s famous preacher father C.L. Franklin and Marlon Wayans as her first husband Ted White.

The movie is set to debut in theaters this August.
