Harry and Meghan Describe Not-So-Fairytale Royal Life

The original plan was for airing a 90 minute TV interview on CBS, but Oprah said there were too many things to cover in that time frame, so they expanded to two hours, with some predicting ratings higher than the NFL Super bowl. Since I don’t currently have that kind of viewing time available for this story, I kept up remotely and am able to help share the spilt tea.

• Meghan says she was naïve about joining the Royal family.
• Meghan recalls her shock when she learned that she had to curtsy for the Queen behind closed doors.
• Meghan says the reports about her making Kate Middleton cry are completely false. Meghan says Kate apologized after making HER cry.
• Meghan laughs at how reporters have double standards when covering her pregnancies.
• Meghan says she was silenced by the Royals.
• Meghan says the Royals lied about her to protect themselves.
• Meghan says the Queen treated her well and gave her a beautiful gift.
• Meghan recalls how lonely she was while everyone was telling her to “lay low.”
• Meghan says she was told that Baby Archie would not receive security because she did not name him a “Prince.”
• Meghan says someone in the monarchy spoke to her and Harry about the color of their baby.
• Meghan says she wanted to seek help because she had suicidal thoughts, but “the institution” wouldn’t allow it.
• Meghan says she will not live her life in fear anymore. She doesn’t know how “the firm” could possibly think she would remain silent.
• Harry says security for him and Meghan was removed while they were in Canada due to a “change in status.”
• Harry says he feared that the history of his mother would repeat itself with Meghan.
• Harry says he never blindsided the Queen about leaving “the institution.” He says he respects his grandmother too much to do that to her.
• Meghan compares herself to “The Little Mermaid.”
• Harry says it is sad that his family didn’t call out the racist coverage of his wife. He says his family is scared of the tabloids turning on them.
• Meghan responds to claims that she orchestrated the removal of Harry from his family for personal gain.
• Harry says he was always “trapped” before he met Meghan and didn’t know it.
• Harry says his family cut him off financially at the beginning of 2020. The whole situation makes him think about his late mother, Princess Diana.
• Meghan says she eventually got her fairytale ending. Harry says Meghan saved her.
  Harry said when they asked for support from the royal family to deal with her mental health, they were turned away.

Perhaps the biggest reveal was the sex of the child the couple are currently anticipating, which is a girl! The couple also say this will be their last.
