WONDER WOMAN 3 In The Works Even Though 1984 Is Not Great

Wonder Woman 1984 had been “certified fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 89% score right after it was released in theaters. Later reviews, after the debut of WW1984 on HBO MAX were not as kind.

At the time of writing this article, the film has a Tomatometer score of 65%, which is a significant drop. I starting watching the overly long movie (2.5 hrs) on Christmas Day within the first hour that it was released for streaming. I’m that girl. Sadly, by the halfway point, I was faced with reality that this movie was not going to be added to my favorites list.  IMHO, this movie should have had a much better script, better editing, someone checking for consistency of plot points and more.  Kristen Wiig as CHEETAH works, but some of us are too distracted by MANDO/Max Lord (that’s Pedra Pascal) without his helmet on, trying to figure out if he is a villain or not, and he takes away from more WW vs Cheetah screen time. Is one enemy per movie not enough anymore? Ugg.

Here is a look at the opening scene. One of the best of the movie!

Moving on, it looks like we have hope that they will get it done right next time with WONDER WOMAN 3 already in the works!

According to Variety, Gal Gadot will return as the female superhero and director Patty Jenkins will write and direct the last installment of the trilogy.

Warner Bros. says ‘Wonder Woman 3’ will have a traditional theatrical release, however ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ made history being the first superhero movie to release in theaters and on streaming service HBO Max.

Gadot’s Wonder Woman will next be seen next in Zack Snyder’s four-part cut of “Justice League,” due on HBO Max in 2021

FYI, Gal was injured playing this role.

Screen Rant says Gal Gadot required neck and back surgery after filming ”Wonder Woman 1984.” They quote her as saying, “The whole six weeks of press that we did, I couldn’t sit. I could only lie down or stand up. So if you go back now and you see all of my interviews, I’m always standing. It is what it is. It’s such a physical role, like the physicality is another character that I have to play. But it has its toll.”
