A Michigan woman, Shelbie Selewski, was featured in the Washington Post about people who have been affected financially by the pandemic. She said that she is behind on her rent and utilities.

Selewski said she set up a GoFundMe to help pay for her rent in hopes to stay in the home, pay the electric bill and the rest would go for Christmas.

The mother said that she lost her job as a medical receptionist and hasn’t found a new job yet.

Swift saw the article and surprised Selewski with gift of $13,000 and a note that said “Shelbie, I’m sending you this gift after reading about you in the Washington Post. No one should have to feel the kind of stress that’s been put on you. I hope you and your beautiful family have a great holiday season. Love, Taylor.”
