Something To Know If You Plan To Buy A PlayStation 5

When the PlayStation 5 is released later this year, you will not able to play games from older models.

Reports say the PS5 will not be backwards compatible with PS1, PS2, or PS3 games. Where as the upcoming Xbox Series X  WILL play original Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games when it comes out this November.

It’s not the biggest shock. There were earlier reports of the PS5 being able to play most PS4 games. Many PS4 games are going through testing to make sure they are compatible with the new console, but that is 4000 titles to get through.

While a specific release date hasn’t been revealed, Sony has confirmed that the PS 5 will be out for the 2020 Holiday season. November 13th has been a rumored date online.
