You know that live-action version of Mulan that you’ve heard so much about, but it got pushed back because of COVID-19, well it’s coming to Disney Plus.
During an investor call, Disney confirmed that the live-action version of Mulan will premiere on Disney Plus on September 4.
There weren’t other details about the film except that it’ll cost you $29.99 to watch, plus a $6.99 subscription to DISNEY + if you aren’t already a member. The movie cost $200 million to produce, millions more to market, and was supposed to be released on March 27th, 2020.
From Variety:
For now, Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek says “Mulan’s” big move isn’t reflective of a new business model for the company — even though it kind of is.
“We’re looking at ‘Mulan’ as a one-off as opposed to saying there’s some new business windowing model that we’re looking at,” Chapek said Tuesday on the company’s earnings call.
It was also announced that the film would be released in select markets where theaters are open to the public.
