U.S. Passes One Million Total Coronavirus Cases

The U.S. passed a grim milestone on Tuesday, with the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases passing the one million mark while the death toll is up to 57,000.

That accounts for about 1/3rd of the total global cases, by far the most of any country.  New York state accounts for more than a quarter of U.S. cases with 250,000.

According to researchers, the U.S. is still averaging between 20,000 and 40,000 new cases and 1,200 to 2,600 deaths per day.
