Archie Jay is an amazing friend, producer, and co-host on WBNQ. And when I learned his favorite dessert of all time comes from a restaurant not found in this area, I went on the hunt to try and make it happen for him for his birthday. Luckily, the recipe was quite simple for a non-baker like me to create at home.
Yes, it was time consuming to create, but not hard at all if you have patience and a good mixer.

Introducing :Magnolia Bakery’s Famous Banana Pudding !!!

Here is your ingredient list for shopping:
1 1/2 cups water
2/3 cup instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
3 cups heavy cream
1 (12-ounce) box vanilla wafers
4 bananas, sliced

DIRECTIONS
1)Mix together the water, pudding mix, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until it sets up.
2)Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Working in thirds, fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until well incorporated.
3) In a trifle or glass bowl, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture; continue until you’ve used up all the pudding mixture. Refrigerate for at least another 60 minutes before serving. Yummy!

Here is what I came up with. Remember, I had to tote it to the radio station at 5am, keep it in the fridge and then Archie would have to drive it to his home, so the glass bowl was not the best option for us. Luckily for you, there is a great instructional video from Pop Sugar that shows you a much prettier version of this lovely dessert.
