Kelly Clarkson is known for keeping it real, and she’s spilling the tea on her love for ‘The Voice’ vs. ‘American Idol.’ Kelly Clarkson is set to be a coach on Season 13 of NBC’s “The Voice” and not Season 16 of now ABC property “American Idol.”

She told The Wrap that she chose The Voice over American Idol because she wanted to do more than judge. “I get to be a part of their team and not just judge them and just say stuff. I get to actually be involved with them and cultivate their career and where they want to go, and help them navigate this competition. And I think that’s my favorite part that is that I get to be a coach. I’ve been asked to be a judge on things and I don’t want to be a judge. I’m not really good at that, I always feel sh**y afterwards, if you have to say something to somebody and they don’t receive it well. So, I really enjoy the coaching aspects.”

Given that Kelly was discovered on a competition show, ‘Idol’, she has a great point and we can’t wait to get her for the upcoming season!
