The new flavor of Oreo is the Firework Oreo! How excited are you to rush to the store and throw the chocolate sandwich cookie filled with Pop Rock candy in your mouth?! NOT…at least I’m not!
It sounds near dangerous. I personally dislike Pop Rock candy, why do I want anything popping around in my mouth? Cosmopolitan magazine describes it as “an Oreo with Pop Rocks in the creme.” It’s not the real Pop Rocks carbonated candy that us old people grew up with; those red and blue sprinkles that were invented in 1956.
“As it turns out, much like actual fireworks, they’re relatively enjoyable and kind of fun for while,” writer Adam Campbell-Schmitt from Food & Wine magazine wrote.
Oreo announced a $500,000 prize for its next Oreo flavor. The Oreo contest runs through July 14.
They’ll be taking submissions through Twitter and Instagram using #MyOreoCreation and #Contest hashtags.
