The sequel to Wicked will debut on November 21, 2025
Universal Pictures has renamed “Wicked: Part Two” to “Wicked: For Good” , which is inspired by a well-known song from the musical.
This title change pays homage to the iconic duet featured in the musical, where Elphaba and Glinda, portrayed by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, sing about their transformative friendship.
The sequel to Wicked will debut on November 21, 2025, following the success of the first part at the box office. Despite not being a Broadway musical fan, Chris Bumbray enjoyed Wicked and praised Jon M. Chu’s direction, comparing it favorably to other adaptations of The Wizard of Oz. Bumbray found Wicked entertaining and a big, broad fantasy epic that could appeal beyond Broadway enthusiasts.
Currently “Wicked” has grossed just over $525 million globally and has secured its place as the highest-grossing Broadway film adaptation ever.
