Selena Gomez & THE BEAR With Big EMMY Nomination News

A history making headline for Selena Gomez just happened during the EMMY award nominations reveal

Selena Gomez has become the most Emmy-nominated Latina producer nominated under the “Best Comedy Series” category for her contributions as EP on Hulu‘s Only Murders In The Building!

Best of all, Gomez FINALLY received her first acting Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Mabel. Congratulations! Hard category to win in, as Selena will be competing against Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”), Jean Smart (“Hacks”), Maya Rudolph (“Loot”) and Kristen Wiig (“Palm Royale”). But it is always a privilege to be nominated right?

In other nomination news, FX had the two most-nominated shows this year: “Shogun” and “The Bear.” I loved them both and recommend you watch immediately. The Japanese drama scored a whopping 25 nominations, including acting nods for Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai, while “The Bear” is close behind with 23.” Still can’t understand why “The Bear” is in the Best Comedy categories, but not job to fix.

Streaming king Netflix led the pack for the 2024 Emmy nominations with a total of 107 nods, while FX moved into second place with a record 93 nominations, narrowly topping HBO/Max, who received 91 nominations.

The 76th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from downtown Los Angeles’ LA Live Peacock Theatre on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT on ABC. The broadcast will then be available to be streamed the next day on Hulu.
