A new documentary entitled How Music Got Free is on the way executive-produced by Eminem and LeBron James.
Eminem has always been passionate about music piracy and said awhile ago, “I’m sorry; when I worked 9-to-5, I expected to get a paycheck every week. It’s the same with music; if I’m putting my heart and all my time into music, I expect to get rewarded for that.”
He added, “I work hard and anybody can just throw a computer up and download my music for free. It could kill the whole purpose of making music.”
How Music Got Free will examine the advent of file-sharing technology and the seismic shifts that occurred in the music industry as a result. With narrations from Method Man, the series will feature exclusive interviews with generation-defining artists Eminem, 50 Cent, Timbaland, and Jimmy Iovine along with industry-shakers Rocsi Diaz, Rhymefest and UnitedMasters CEO Steve Stoute.
