Beyoncé Was “A Mom First” Working With Daughter Blue Ivy Carter on ‘Mufasa’

Fans of the 2019 remake of The Lion King have something new to look forward to , a new movie that delves into the backstory of Simba’s father, Mufasa.

Titled “Mufasa: The Lion King,” we learn how the orphaned Mufasa rose to become the revered king of the Pride Lands.

This prequel boasts new original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and star-studded cast: Seth Rogan, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandie Newton, Beyonce and Beyonce’s daughter……. Blue Ivy Carter.

Queen Beyoncé reprises her role as “Nala” in The Lion King, with Blue Ivy playing her lion cub, “Kiara.”

Barry Jenkins, Mufasa director, told Good Morning America that working with the mother-daughter duo was great. “Beyoncé is this larger-than-life figure, but when she’s working with her daughter, when she’s in the room with her daughter, she’s a mom first,” the filmmaker explained. “So much of that energy bled into the film.”

MUFASA :The Lion King will be in theatres December 20th, 2024.
