Act II: Cowboy Carter’ is reshaping country music genre
Beyoncé has made a historic achievement, as she is now the first Black woman to top the Country Albums chart!
Beyoncé’s album ‘Act II: Cowboy Carter’ has actually been reaching No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts.
On Sunday, April 8, the album broke to number one in the United States, surpassing Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing At a Time” on the country charts and passing by Future and Metro Boomin’s “We Don’t Trust You” on the Top Album list.
From AP NEWS.com:
“The album also topped the all-genres Billboard 200, marking her eighth No. 1 album. According to Luminate, the industry data and analytics company, “Cowboy Carter” totaled 407,000 equivalent album units, a combination of pure album sales and on-demand streams, earned in the U.S. since its first week since its March 29 release.”
In February, “Texas Hold ’Em” reached No. 1 on the country airplay chart, making her the first Black woman to top that chart as well.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album has more than 300 million on-demand streams and around 168,000 in traditional album sales.
I don’t know if the new version of JOLENE by Dolly Parton will get a lot of radio airplay, but it is one of my favorites on the album as Beyonce puts a new attitude spin on the message with just a few word changes and a ton of subtext. The queen is in the house and you need to step back!
