Top 3 Of American Idol Includes Normal Native Leah Marlene

American Idol was down to five contestants on Sunday evening (May 15-2022). Huntergirl, Leah Marlene, Fritz Hager, Noah Thompson, and Nicolina were left to battle it out. They all sang songs from Previous AI winner Carrie Underwood and she mentored them as well.

Let’s take another look at what Carrie said to our favorite local girl Leah.

While all the contestants received rave reviews from the judges and Carrie Underwood was left emotional by Noah Thompson’s performance, only three could remain. 

For the second performance, the directive was to pick a show stopper of a song that could be a concert finale song. Leah Marlene choose Journey’s ‘Separate Ways’. Let’s watch this again too!

Huntergirl and Noah Thompson were announced as safe from elimination, leaving Hager, Marline, and Nicolina. In the end, Marlene was the final save, she fell to the floor in shock after the announcement. However, it was the end of the road for her friends Fritz Hager and Nicolina. 

So what happens next now that Leah is in the Top 3? HOMETOWN TOUR!!!!!

Head to Uptown Normal Tuesday May 16th for a 6pm parade starting on Linden St. to Beaufort with a proclamation from Mayor Koos for “LEAH MARLENE DAY”, followed by a Leah Marlene Concert in front of The Normal Theater at approx 7:30PM. Please leave your big bags and chairs at home and do enter from the circle through security. It will be free and fun, and if the cameras catch you, you might end up on television just like Leah!
