1st Trailer For Weird Al Biopic Starring Daniel Radcliffe Has Arrived
Move over Freddie Mercury and Elton John – the rock star biopic is about to get Weird.
This week, the Roku Channel dropped a teaser trailer for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, starring Daniel Radcliffe as the “Like A Surgeon” singer.
Yankovic is the best-selling comedy recording artist of all time, including hits like “White & Nerdy,” “Another One Rides the Bus” and “Smells Like Nirvana.” and more.
The movie was co-written by Weird Al himself, along with director Eric Appel. Evan Rachel Wood will play Madonna in the movie.
In 2015, the Bloomington Center For The Performing Arts had Al headline two shows that sold out instantly, which was a surprise to some. For those of us who have loved Al since his earliest appearances on the syndicated radio show -Dr. Demento, we were first in line for the privilege to see him live on stage. Al Yankovic is one of the best performers I have ever seen, and he never disappoints.
Weird Al fun facts:
When Al graduated high school he was valedictorian of his senior class. He attended California Polytechnic State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He started playing the accordion around age 7, and is one of the worlds best players of the instrument!
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story will premiere this fall.
