Carlin Documentary Coming To HBO

A George Carlin documentary is coming to HBO and HBO Max. George Carlin’s American Dream features interviews from the biggest names in comedy, along with personal and professional video clips, comedy, and more. Filmmakers Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio have been working on a documentary about Carlin’s life and legacy for HBO, and the trailer has finally arrived.

You can catch George Carlin’s American Dream in two parts on HBO on May 20 and 21, or catch both parts streaming on HBO Max starting May 20.

The documentary will follow Carlin from childhood to his death in 2008, and then beyond that to his extending legacy. Carlin headlined 14 HBO Comedy specials, appeared on The Tonight Show more than 130 times, and had roles in a number of great films ranging from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure to Kevin Smith’s Dogma. He is still to this day my favorite comedian of all time. Timeless!
