Shawn Mendes is heading back home next month after the announcement from The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences that he will receive the Juno International Achievement Award.

The Juno award is the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.

Shawn has won 11 Juno Awards in the past, but he will only be one of eight others to receive the International Achievement Award.

Shawn released a statement saying, “Accepting this award will be a surreal moment, to be recognized for my work not only in Canada, but around the world, is a tremendous honor and I am humbled to join an outstanding group of artists who have helped put Canadian music on the map.”

The award show will take place on May 15th and can be streamed on Facebook, Youtube or Twitter.
