Our favorite contestant from Normal Illinois is still making the cut!

On Sunday’s (4/17/22) AMERICAN IDOL episode, we learned that Leah Marlene enjoyed enough of America’s votes to move into the Top 20. She got the good news from Ryan Seacrest, and then had to pop on stage to perform again for votes in hopes of making the Top 14 which will be announced Monday night (4/18). The top 10 vote getters will be announced with the A.I. judges adding in 4 picks of their own.

Sunday night her song choice was a haunting almost spiritual experience version of “Heal” by Tom Odell. The judges were floored. Take a listen!

American Idol’s 20th season is on ABC with Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie serves as judges. They are all very quick to point out how this Unit 5 school alum is one of the most unique voices in the competition, and her style is an excellent representation of her wonderful “weirdness”.

The American Idol winner is determined by television viewers through public voting. The winner will receive cash prize and a record deal with Big Machine Records.
