With gas prices, how can anyone afford to go anywhere these days?

Unless you drive an electric car, you have been hit at the pump pretty hard lately. It’s a common complaint and with a world that seems so divided these days, something we have all unified over…Gas prices suck!

I can’t even imagine if you have a family and the kids are all in activities and sports, how often you have to fill up at 70 plus bucks a pop!

Gas is at an all time high, with no end in sight, and some lawmakers want the federal government to offer stimulus payments or rebate checks to help reduce the pain at the pump.

Do you think we should get a stimulus check for gas?

A few scenarios that have been tossed around…families with two children could get as much $300 per month as long as the nation’s average gas price exceeds $4 a gallon, this is according to one new bill proposed by Reps from California, Connecticut and Illinois.

California is proposing to send direct payments of $400 per vehicle to state residents (cap at two per household.) Pending approval those checks could start arriving as soon as July. California drivers face some of the highest gas prices in the nation, getting closer and closer to $6 a gallon every day.

As yet, no word on the likelihood of the proposals becoming bills that get passed, but with millions hurting as they pay for gas and opting to drive less because of it, something might have to happen soon before the economy takes another hit.
