Wednesday is the last day for ground shipping before Christmas with FedEx and USPS!

We all know Santa Claus gets it all done in one night, but for the rest of us mere mortals, getting all of our holiday gifts to our loved ones and under the tree in time may take a bit longer than 24 hours.

Holiday shipping deadlines are more serious then ever this year, especially during the pandemic with recent supply chain issues, understaffed companies, and shipping delays.

To make sure that your gifts make it under the tree with plenty of time for wrapping, I’ve got a look at the shipping cutoff dates and options to hopefully ensure a Dec. 24 delivery.

USPS:

If you are shipping through the good old postal service, you might need to get a move on. Regular USPS Retail Ground shipping has a holiday cutoff date of Dec. 15, with other options staggered through the month ranging through Dec. 23 for Priority Mail Express Service.

UPS:

To ship via UPS, it is advised to head to their Holiday Shipping info page on the site for more details, but for this year, it looks like Dec. 21 is the cutoff for their 3-Day Select service when shipping in the United States.

FedEx:

FedEx has a PDF spreadsheet with the 2021 cutoff deadlines, with the last day for most FedEx Ground services being Dec. 15. For FedEx Express, you can buy yourself some more time, with deadlines starting Dec. 21 and ending Dec. 24 for same-day delivery.

So after today, there’s still a chance to get it there in time, but remember…it’ll cost ya!
