The study found that obsese children gained between 12-14 pounds during the pandemic year, nearly double the typical rate.
Children at a healthy weight also tended to gain an extra two pounds on average during the pandemic.Overall, the percentage of obese children and teens increased from 19% to 22% in 2020.
