TikTok has responded to the Milk Crate Challenge, saying it will remove the videos

Have you seen the stunt that involves stacking a bunch of plastic milk crates into stairs, then climbing up to the top and back down the other side without collapsing the pyramid?

Very few have walked away successful, and even less have been able to escape injury. Very few to attempt the feat were able to hold their balance on the unsteady structure.

In a rare statement from the company:

“TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content,” the social media platform said in a statement. “We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off.”

Do you think think that will stop people from trying it? Maybe the sudden rising cost of the crates will help end this trend. Some AMAZON retailers have upped the price to $60 per crate.

35 crates pictured above, would cost over $2000 if you paid the inflated crate costs. Not worth it when my insurance deductible is $4000, and broken ribs really really hurt.

And even though I feel like I’m adding to the problem by adding this video, it is a pretty good deterrent (and a little bit entertaining).
