You Can Buy The “SKINNY HOUSE” In Boston

This property isn’t a “TINY HOUSE”, but a really narrow home

Boston’s famous Skinny House is on sale again for a whopping $1.2 million.

The vertically rectangular-shaped house was last on the market in 2017 and sold for $900,000.

The home is about 1,165 square feet. But more interestingly, the house is barely 10 feet wide at its widest point. The building narrows in the back, ending at 9.25 feet.

From NYPOST.com:

This home traces its origins to brotherly beef. The Globe reported that two brothers inherited land from their father. When one was flighting the Civil War, the other constructed a sprawling property across the lot. Out of spite, after returning from war in the 1860s, the other put up this sliver of a home to block his brother’s views. That’s why it’s also known as the Spite House. A wooden sign outside the home makes this official, with “The Skinny House (Spite House)” carved into the grain.

There are four stories in the home and a private deck that displays views of the Boston Harbor. The kitchen and dinning room are on the ground floor.

The second floor holds the living area and the house’s only bathroom. The third level has a living space and a bedroom. Lastly, the upper level of the house has the only other room — a master bedroom.
