Are you using someone else’s streaming password?
Streaming services are trying to crack down on the people who are sharing their passwords with others for access to the services.
A few weeks ago, Netflix did a trial to discourage the use of anyone who was using a shared password.
A pop up message appeared on the screen and read “If you don’t live with the owner of this account, you need your own account to keep watching”.
Additionally to confirm it was their account, they were sent a code to either their email or text message. (For the record, this did not happen to me personally)
According to research, people sharing their passwords is causing a revenue loss in the billions to streaming services, in turn could cause an increase in services.
