U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin says your $600 stimulus payment might have already been deposited

“These payments may begin to arrive in some accounts by direct deposit as early as tonight and will continue into next week,” Mnuchin tweeted on Tuesday.
Paper checks will begin going out on Wednesday, Mnuchin added.

You might want to check your bank account balance. Recipients should be aware that Friday is a federal holiday, and banks will be closed, and that the entire payment dispersal process is expected to take about two months to complete, so don’t panic if your payment hasn’t arrived yet.

Americans have been told can also check the status of their payments by visiting IRS.gov/GetMyPayment.

What happens if the Federal Government approves a larger payment after you have gotten your payment? Another payment making up the difference would be issued.
