Airlines Testing COVID-19 Health Pass

Perhaps there is still a way to safely fly during this pandemic.

Airlines are starting to test out a new app called CommonPass, which digitally stores proof that a traveler has tested negative for the coronavirus.

According to Paul Meyer, the chief executive of the company behind the project, it’s a way to standardize statuses since each jurisdiction has its own method of reporting the results.

United and Cathay Pacific are among the first to try it out this month, which will be monitored by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as US border officials on trips to Hong Kong, Singapore, London, and New York.
