Starting on Monday, Uber will have these new rules in place for both the drivers and the passengers.
- Drivers will not be able to pick up customers until they have verified they are wearing a mask. They will verify through Uber’s photo recognition software in the Uber app.
- Both passengers and drivers will be able to cancel rides if either party doesn’t wear a mask or if either party removes their mask at any point during the ride.
- No passenger will be allowed to sit in the front seat.
- Uber X and Uber XL will not permit more than three passengers.
- Uber Eats drivers can now notify Uber if the restaurant is not following social distancing or if they have a long wait time.
- The restaurant can also notify Uber if the driver is not following protocol by wearing a mask.
Are these protocols enough to make you feel safe either as a passenger or as a customer receiving food from Uber Eats?
