If you’re wondering why people are continuing to snatch up toilet paper as fast as stores can stock it, you’re not alone. Walmart CEO Doug McMillion can’t explain it, either.
In an appearance on Friday’s “Today” show, McMillion revealed Walmart sold enough rolls in the past five days for every person in American to have one. He also said while food was a big seller at the start of the pandemic, puzzles and games replaced it soon after. Now shoppers have turned to purchasing grooming products, like beard trimmers and hair dye, he said.
In other words, business is booming at Walmart. In fact, McMillion said his company has had to hire 100,000 new employees since March 19th.
