Government to Unveil Coronavirus Website, Parking Lot Testing

Getting tested for the coronavirus may soon get a lot easier.

In an arrangement with four national retailers, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx says she’s made plans for drive-up screening sites, which will be set up in the parking lots of select Walmart, Target, Walgreen’s and CVS stores. A timetable for the unveiling of the quick-stop testing sites has not been released.

The administration has also been working with Google to construct a screening website, where visitors will be able to fill out a questionnaire about their symptoms, Birx says. If the site determines the person is at risk, he or she will be directed to the nearest drive-up testing site, according  to Birx. It’s unclear when the site will go online.
