“Community Players Theatre recently announced the launch of their “Set the Stage” Capital Campaign at their 98th Season Announcement Party this past Saturday, January 25th, 2020.
Last year the board shared the initial plans to renovate the theatre auditorium thanks to a generous donation from a wonderful and long-standing patron, and announced that all donations from that point forward would be going towards raising an additional $100,000 for the project. Over the past year, the board has worked together to create a vision for the new house, chosen an architecture firm (Farnsworth Group) and worked with their team to create the first renderings of the new space. These new renderings, along with example seats, were unveiled at the 98th Season Announcement party, both of which remain on display in the
theatre lobby.
The new Capital Campaign officially marks the start of the long-awaited “Seat Starter” sponsorship program, where patrons, volunteers, local businesses and theatre lovers of all kinds can sponsor a seat in the new auditorium. Seat Sponsorships start at $250 and include a plaque with the individual or business’s name, recognition on the website and in the show programs, and other various goodies as the sponsorship levels increase (including CPT merchandise, season tickets, and tickets to the 100th Season Gala). Along with the Seat Starter sponsorship program, the Capital Campaign launch includes the sale of new Community Players merchandise including a canvas tote bag (great for all your rehearsal needs), and an insulated thermos (to keep your coffee and tea hot all day long). The board will begin the bidding process for the renovation project in the upcoming months, with a tentative renovation start date in early December, 2020. Due to the renovation timeline, Community Players announced that its 98th season will be shortened to 4 shows.”
