Alex Trebek Needs Just 30 Seconds To Say Goodbye From “Jeopardy”

Alex Trebek isn’t leaving Jeopardy yet but the wheels are in motion and he knows what he will say when the time comes.

In an interview with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, Trebek said he wants the show’s director to leave him 30 seconds at the end of his final show.

Trebek told Strahan, “I will say my goodbyes and I will tell people, ‘Don’t ask me who’s going to replace me because I have no say whatsoever. But I’m sure that if you give them the same love and attention and respect that you have shown me… then they will be a success and the show will continue being a success and until we meet again, God bless you and goodbye.’”

Trebek is fighting stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He said in the past that he will remain the host of Jeopardy as long as his skills have not diminished. Trebek alluded to Strahan that the process of leaving the show has begun but there were no specifics or timetables given.
