Recap Taylor Swift’s night at the AMAs

All eyes were on Taylor Swift during Sunday evening’s AMA awards. The “Lover” singer arrived on the red carpet wearing a green blinged-out custom Julien Macdonald dress paired with knee-high black Casadei boots.

But it was her performance outfit that sent Twitter into a tizzy, Taylor hit the AMA stage wearing a white jail-like jumpsuit with the names of the albums she should own, 1989, RED and Speak Now were written in black block lettering, as she started her performance with the first few lines from “The Man.”

“I’m so sick of running as fast as I can /Wondering if I’d get there quicker if I was a man/ And I’m so sick of them coming at me again/ ‘Cause if I was a man, then I’d be the man,” Taylor sang. Taylor then removed the jumpsuit to reveal a gold bodysuit as she sang “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Blank Space,” and “Shake It Off” alongside tourmates Camila Cabello and Halsey. She ended at a pink piano singing “Lover” as ballet dancers, Misty Copeland and Craig Hall performed.

Swifties were super emotional as they watched Taylor Swift’s mother, Andrea, cry during Taylor’s performance. Swift took to the American Music Award stage to sing a medley of her hit songs. Andrea, who sat in between Taylor’s father, Scott and her BFF, Selena Gomez, had tears rolling down her face as Taylor sat a the piano singing her hit, “Lover.”Andrea Swift has had an ongoing battle with breast cancer so by her being able to see her daughter perform and win the Artist of the Decade award, it was enough to send everyone who watched into tears.
