Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld died at the age of 85 on Tuesday. Part of his fortune has been left to his cat.
Lagerfeld told Numero magazine last year that he had named Choupette as an heir to his fortune, “among others, yes,” adding, “don’t worry, there is enough for everyone.”
The kitty named Choupette is 7-years-old. She is rich and famous in her own right. She has starred in two ad campaigns, was a muse for one of Lagerfeld’s fashion collections and has 157,000 followers on Instagram as @choupettesdiary

Choupette is currently #13 on the 2018 PET RICH LIST, which you can enjoy by clicking HERE. Has she gone up to the top of the list?
We don’t know. It is currently unknown exactly how much money Lagerfeld left for his cat, but he was worth an estimated $300 million at the time of his death.
From MarketWatch.com:
The fancy feline is indeed flush in her own right. Lagerfeld told The Cut in 2015 that Choupette earned three million euros ($3.18 million) the year before from doing two ad campaigns; one for the car company Vauxhall, which is a unit of Peugeot, and the other for L’Oreal subsidiary Shu Uemura in Japan.
Choupette was also the muse for Lagerfeld’s 2015 “Choupette in Love” fashion collection; the book “Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Cat” published in 2014; and a $545 stuffed toy replica of Choupette that went on sale in 2017. She counts more than 157,000 followers on Instagram, where she’s depicted flying in private jets or traveling via a $1,900 Louis Vuitton cat carrier. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour said at the 2015 British Fashion Awards that, “I have often thought that in my next life, I would like to come back as Choupette, [Lagerfeld’s] extremely beautiful and bourgeois cat, who has two maids, a chef, a personal hairdresser and many diamond necklaces.”
Did you put your pet in your will? If there isn’t a family member on standby to take over the care of your pets, you might consider making a financial plan to have this done. A lawyer will not laugh at you for doing this, and if they do, get a new lawyer.
