Miley Cyrus is working to help unite migrant children who have been separated from their families and she has already raised nearly $30,000 in less than 24 hours.

The singer and Happy Hippie Foundation, the nonprofit Cyrus launched to help homeless LGBTQ youth, launched a Facebook fundraiser Monday afternoon in an effort to raise legal funds to help reunite migrant families that have been separated.

Miss Cyrus is currently on track to reach her $35,000 goal.

“Happy Hippie and I believe EVERYONE has the right to be with their families and deserves a safe place to call their home,” Cyrus wrote. “Thousands of migrant children remain detained and separated from their families RIGHT NOW. These are children and families who are escaping violence in their home countries and want a future where they can be safe and together.”

According to the campaign, funds will go directly to KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) that will secure legal representation for families that have been separated.
