WOW! This new study can help you in advance so you aren’t shocked by devastating news regarding your pups.

According to PRNewswire, the largest ever study of its kind shows that genetic testing can predict whether or not a dog is at risk for certain diseases. The study looked at more than 150 genetic disease variants in over 100,000 dogs. Among the findings is the fact that fewer mixed breed dogs than purebreds are affected by the most common disease-causing mutations.

Researchers say knowing of a dog’s disease-related genetic makeup can help owners, breeders and veterinarians make better, more informed decisions about a dog’s health.
