The only Swedish group has taken over Instagram to announce two releases that will form part of an ‘avatar tour project.’ Abba have announced that they have written and recorded their first new songs since they split in 1983. This is the best news ever!
The band said in a statement: “The decision to go ahead with the exciting Abba avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence. We all felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!”
We love Mamma Mia! and Dancing Queen and now we can add a few new songs to the collection!
The group have long held out against lucrative offers to reunite, they were reported to have been offered $1 billion to play a concert in 2000. So, why now? It just feels right!
