A Solar Eclipse Is Coming & Here’s What You Need To Know

Youtube via VOX

News flash, there’s going to be a solar eclipse on August 21, but it’s probably too late to book a hotel in the path of totality (where the moon’s shadow will totally block out the sun.) Luckily you’re in a prime location, living in Bloomington/Normal.

So what will you see at home? A free tool at vox.com shows you what to expect. Fortunately, every part of the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, will see at least a partial eclipse. You can plug your zip code in to find out what the eclipse will look like in your area, and what time it will peak.

But, since I’ve got your back, I did the work for you and the eclipse will peak at 1:18:58 pm CDT, when the moon obscures 93.1% of the sun…and if you’re totally lost about what all the hype is about, watch the below video.
