Saturday April 8th, Hockey mom Christine Kirk got a phone call from Kraft foods, that could change the lives of all hockey fans in Central Illinois.
Christine entered the Kraft Hockeyville contest in January with a short essay about our great local hockey programs, and how winning would help her daughter Violet and other sled hockey program players. (Her husband Tim Kirk actually started that program for limited physical ability players at the Pepsi Ice Center). Saturday’s surprise phone call was an announcement that Christine’s essay had made it to the top 10 of the contest, which guarantees a minimum $10,000 check for upgrades to her family’s favorite hockey rink!
But the contest is far from over. It is up to all of us to electronically vote the Pepsi Ice Center into the top spot and win the huge grand prize: $150,000 and a preseason NHL Hockey game right here in Bloomington. We can do this!!!!!!
On Saturday April 15th, it was announced that our votes put Bloomington’s Pepsi Ice Center into the FINAL FOUR with a guaranteed prize of at least $25,000 for rink upgrades.
The voting starts again on April 18th, 2017. Vote online at www.krafthockeyville.com
