New CPR Song List Could Save Lives

YouTube/AmericanHeartAssociation

If EMT’s ever arrive on scene to find me doing CPR while singing HANSON’s ‘MMMBop’ at the top of my lungs, I expect to get a high five!

The American Heart Association says hands-only CPR saves lives when someone experiences cardiac arrest outside of a hospital. To keep the correct pace, CPR trainers have long suggested doing chest compressions to the beat of “Stayin’ alive” by the Bee Gees.  That has the perfect the number of beats per minute to perform CPR, which is 100 beats per minute. But, that song isn’t the only one you can use.

New York Presbyterian Hospital put together a Spotify playlist of other songs you may prefer to use, or you can choose something else, as long as the song has a rhythmic beat of AT LEAST 100 bpm.

If you are already on Spotify, find the playlist “SONGS TO DO CPR TO.”
Even though it qualifies, I wouldn’t use Queen’s ‘Another One Bites The Dust‘.
Just trying to help you avoid the awkward!
