Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson and more performed in “Hairspray Live” on Wednesday.
“Hairspray Live” was a one-time-only production airing on NBC. The show is based on the original in 1988, which was then turned into a Tony-winning Broadway musical in 2002. That in turn was adapted for a musical movie remake in 2007.
