Reindeer Poop Ornaments Raises Money For Miller Park Zoo

MIller Park Zoo 2016 Reindeer Gems
Miller Park Zoo 2016 Reindeer Gems
The 2016 limited edition Magical Reindeer Gem ornaments have just been released for purchase at the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Illinois.
Reindeer “Gems” (A autoclaved-painted piece of real reindeer scat) were developed in 2008 with a story from retired Miller Park Zoo Superintendent, John Tobias.
John’s grandmother use to gather her grandchildren and take them outside on Christmas Eve to scatter homemade chocolate chips.  She would tell the children that the chips would attract Santa and his reindeer to their home, because the reindeer would know that other reindeer had already visited and left droppings.
Susie Ohley, Miller Park Zoological Society Development Director, along with a group of animal loving volunteers, work endless hours each year to handcraft these amazing and unique gift items to sell and raise money for the non-profit zoo support group.
