I am so beyond excited and overwhelmed and happy and astonished and of course, SHOOK, to announce that I am the newest face of @covergirl. First ever male ambassador for the brand and I am so honored and excited to be working with such an iconic brand. I started my Instagram one year ago to inspire others and as an artistic outlet to challenge myself creatively. I truly hope that this shows that anyone and everyone can wear makeup and can do anything if you work hard. James Charles is Shining as bright as his highlight and it has us all saying “Yassss!”

Reigning with his 441,000 Instagram followers, CoverGirl is making sure the world knows who he is.

On Tuesday, CoverGirl ambassador Katy Perry took to Instagram to break the news that the beauty brand had signed the 17-year-old New York-based makeup artist. “Just wrapped another great CoverGirl shoot. Honored to have the pleasure to announce the very first CoverBoy, James Charles!”

Charles first starting posting his work on Instagram a year ago and went viral last month following his fierce yearbook shoot. He’ll star in CoverGirl’s new mascara campaign, “So Lashy,” which goes live later this month.
